Being a buyer’s agent is fun no matter if the client is a first-time buyer, an experienced investor, or somewhere in the middle. Beyond the nuts and bolts of practical agent work, it’s exciting to assist the first timer on an emotional level by reassuring, guiding, managing expectations, and best of all, celebrating the joy of their first home purchase. How sweet that is!
When a seller puts their house on the market, they are extending a great deal of trust in their agent and all the agents that will be showing their home. I have always done my very best to show due respect when viewing homes, but in over 20 years in business, I’ve made my share of mistakes and apologized for my share of errors.
Remember when wallpaper was all the rage? In the 90’s, one could hardly find a house without wallpaper. In my circle of friends, if you didn’t have any wallpaper in your house, you were on a mission to rectify that. Wallpapering get-togethers were definitely “a thing.”
In the high country area, there are only a few options for water. If the house is located within the town proper, ie, Boone, Seven Devils, Blowing Rock, for example, city water is usually available. Be advised, however, that assuming is a mistake.
I love my family of origin!! We share a style of communication, body language, insecurities, and especially humor. My siblings and I are separated by many miles, but we certainly share similar communication styles and senses of humor that make our times together rich.
Although I am new to the world of real estate, one thing that has already become evident to me is the critical role relationship building plays.
To me, home is the most important place in my life.
As much as it is a place, home is also a feeling. Growing up, “home” was a place, a house, a tangible structure, a concrete construct. It was something I considered steadfast and consistent. My definition of home has evolved over time and through different experiences.
Home: what a beautiful word! What a beautiful feeling. When I close the door, I’m enveloped by safety and quiet. I feel the warmth of my well-used belongings.
